Triangle ABC is inscribed in a circle as shown above. What is the radius of the circle?

Why is 2 insufficient? you can apply the theorem with the measure given for the two sides, is it because we cannot assume by the figure that side AB is of course the diamenter?

Ricardo, yes you are right. We cannot assume AB is a diameter of the circle, because that is given in statement 1.
