The third side of a triangle can never be greater than the sum of the other two sides.

So the answer must be D

Hi Seth,

The lengths of the two given sides of the triangle (AB and AC) add up to 8, not 7.

So, the third side, CB, can have any length between 2 and 8:

2 < CB < 8
