Just so everybody is clear, this reading comprehension, as well as many other LSAT reading comprehension questions, are about analyzing every little part of the reading given for each question or, in the case of an actual LSAT test, 7 or 8 questions. They require you to understand the passage itself, the answer they are looking for, as well as any and all conclusions you can infer from the reading. The answer is, as JKH clearly stated, A because of the EXCEPT portion and that being said you can clearly realize through JKH's analysis that the other choices are wrong by default.
