I understood the parallelism of the noun, but the main problem is that how can you use the verb 'resultS' with plural subjects. Two subjects are connected with the conjunction 'and' so a verb with no S in the end is required, isn't is?

It is tricky, isn't it? The "and" here is a strong, conditional "and", so that together they form one unit subject. For example: "Bait and switch is not good for long term customer satisfaction."
