The answer to this should be 18, correct? If you raise a negative number to an even power it should always be positive. Plus 2 would equal 18.

Justin, sorry to disappoint. The order of operations is exponent first, then negation. Remember PEMDAS (parentheses, exponent, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction)? Negation is basically multiplying by -1. This is a trick question. So you would raise 2 to the power first, then negating, i.e., multiplying by -1.

The answer was wrong, if answer is -14, you need(-2),not 2
